Connect the DotsIntroduce yourself, and explain that you have drawn up a problem for them to solve. The problem is how to join the four dots with three straight lines, such that they are completely enclosed with no gaps between the dots. Example 1: Some would try to do it this way, but there are still three gaps between the dots. How can we join the four dots with just three straight lines so there are no gaps? Example 2: Some would try to do it this way, but there are still two gaps. Example 3: Some would try to do it this way, but there is still one gap. This problem is actually impossible if you stay within the four dots, just as the problems we face in life are often impossible if we look only within ourselves for the answers. We need to look beyond ourselves, to the infinite God who made us. The only way to solve this problem is to go beyond the dots (fill in solution). If we are willing to reach out to the God who loves us for help, we will find a whole new dimension to life. God says in the Bible, "For as the heavens are higher than the earth, so are my ways higher than your ways, and my thoughts higher than your thoughts." (Isaiah 55:8) Underneath this sheet of paper we are going to show you how you can know this infinite God. |
